Limb-Preserving Surgery for a 28-Day-Old Infant with Infantile Fibrosarcoma

A rare and complex case involving a 28-day-old infant diagnosed with an 11.3 × 9.8 cm infantile fibrosarcoma, requiring a highly coordinated multidisciplinary approach to preserve the affected limb. Led by Dr. Pramod Chinder at HCG Cancer Centre & The Yellow Ribbon, Bengaluru, the treatment combined patient-specific 3D printing and surgical planning, advanced surgical techniques, genomic insights and complex reconstruction to achieve limb preservation in a newborn.

Sarcoma Awareness Run
August 2025
Sarcoma Strong 5K Walkathon – Season 2 brought together more than 1,500 participants in Bengaluru to raise awareness about sarcoma, a rare bone and soft-tissue cancer, and promote early detection. Led by HCG Cancer Centre and supported by survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals and the wider community, the 2025 walkathon carried the message of taking the “Right Step First Time.”

The India edition of the “Sarcoma Strong – Right Step First Time” 5K Walkathon brought together sarcoma survivors, patients, families, healthcare professionals and the community in Bengaluru to raise awareness about sarcoma and celebrate the strength of those affected by the disease. Part of a global initiative across nine countries, the 2024 walkathon highlighted the importance of early awareness, timely diagnosis and the right treatment.
